Hi! I'm Caitlin.

I'm a Navy wife, mom of an incredible little girl, a full spectrum doula, and a photographer here on Whidbey Island, Washington. We also have two sweet fur babies, an Australian Shepherd, Nova, and a cat, Lunar. I enjoy lots of reading (a lot, ACOTAR anyone?!) and artsy things like photography, embroidery, and painting. My husband and I are drawn to mountains where we can hike and enjoy nature. We are also huge game nerds and love a good game night with friends and family.

As a lifelong lover of space, I am constantly inspired by the beauty and mystery of the cosmos. I believe the universe has a way of putting things into perspective and reminding us of the magic and wonder of life.

I fell in love with birth and matrescence. I was made to support women through this journey.

I have always been fascinated by birth, but became truly passionate about birth and birth work after my own birth and postpartum experience. Having my daughter changed everything for me. It allowed me to connect deeper with myself, the people around me, and the space I hold within the universe.

Matrescence resonates deep within me. The transformation from individual to mother is primal and transcendent. Pulling you from your roots and replanting you in the most fruitful garden. And that is what draws me to support others through this journey. There is something profound about watching a woman come into herself for her children and family.

My focus as a doula and photographer is connection, understanding, and confidence. Building deep connections with families, nurturing your understanding of self and the power you hold, and helping you grow and maintain confidence in the decisions you make for yourself and your family.

My Birth Philosophy

I believe birth is meant to be experienced and savored. Birth is meant to bring us, as parents, into being. There is nothing like the transformation from individual to parent. No one tells you that not only are you about to meet your new baby, but you're about to meet a whole new version of yourself you've never met before. Someone you won't even recognize at the end of the day, in the best way. Birth matters for so many reasons. Our birth experiences have the power to affect every aspect of our lives and parenting journeys. It isn't just a one-time experience, but something we carry with us for the rest of our lives. It is no small feat to give birth. The confidence that birth can give us when making decisions that are right for us and follow our intuition is unmatched.

Love this girl with my whole heart

Medicalized birth has become the norm, taking away the power of birthing people all around the world. While medical intervention is necessary and life-saving, it isn't necessary for every birth. Our society has dehumanized the birthing person by assuming every birth is the same and every person giving birth is the same. The reality is that birth is wild and unpredictable. Every birth is so unique, it's impossible to put every experience into the same box. We have to follow the direction of the birthing person and trust that they know their body and their baby more than any machine ever could. By giving the birthing person unconditional support, providing education on options, and trusting the nature of birth we can change the course of a family's life.

Does any of this resonate with you?

We might be a good fit.
